Introduction

Life is funny.  Over the course of mine I have managed to find myself in several different vocations.  My working life began on a golf course driving the cart that picked up balls and, more often than not served as a not so well armored target on the driving range.  I currently drive slightly better armored vehicles finding roadside bombs and blowing things up as a Combat Engineer in the Army.  In between I have been an auto detailer, sailor, teacher, computer systems analyst, and a software engineer.  I have learned a lot from my time spent in each and have had shifts in opinions as a result of lessons learned from each one.  However one opinion I hold has only become more and more entrenched in my beliefs through each phase of my life...that being that our government has ceased to serve those it intends to govern and primarily serves itself.

For many years I have watched news programs and bitterly disagreed with representatives from both sides of the aisle who seek primarily to remain in power rather than preserve the liberties that many people still value and hold sacred.  Over the past few years I have seen our leaders display a complete lack of faith in the will and resolve of the American people and as such move our country closer and closer towards a socialist state.  The trend is maddening.  It seems that our leaders now get elected simply by promising to give people more and more and respond to challenges by simply increasing the level of government in our lives.

So it is with this knowledge, and as a favor to my wife that I start this blog.  Perhaps if I have an outlet other than ranting at the television she will be able to watch a newscast in its entirety for the first time in our married life.
